Beasley Out Of Goodman-Drew League Showdown

Count Minnesota Timberwolves’ Michael Beasley out of the much anticipated Goodman-Drew League showdown in Washington later this week.

According to the Washington Post, a scheduling conflict will prevent Beasley from backing up his words that the Goodman League will trounce the Drew League.  He will be replaced by Bobcats’ Dante Cunningham.

You know, perhaps this is a good thing. Beasley has proven no matter where he plays, he seems to always get into some sort of trouble. This offseason, he hasn’t been on his best behavior. In case you forgot, he has been cited for speeding and weed possession and, more recently, gave a fan in New York City an up-close view of his hand at a pro-am game. And with this event to be streamed online, the last thing it needs is for Beasley to loose his cool.

In case you were wondering, Beasely is off to Beijing to play in the Continental Club Basketball Championships from Aug. 20-28. Now all he has to worry about is not making American pro-basketball players look bad or start an international crisis. Yeah, I am just as worried as you are.
