Heat’s Bosh to return for Game 5 vs. Celtics?

After going up 2-0 on the Boston Celtics, the Miami Heat looked primed to take the series and advance to the 2012 NBA Finals. However, once the series shifted to Boston, the Celtics were able to hold home court and ties the Eastern Conference Finals at 2-2 as the series will now shift to Miami for a pivotal Game Five.

What got Boston back into the series has been a healthy dose of Kevin Garnett. He has been lighting up the Heat’s frontcourt being able to score inside, rebound, and wreck havoc on the defensive end for Miami.

Of course having KG play the likes of Dexter Pittman, Joel Anthony, Ronny Turiaf, and Udonis Haslem would allow him to have his way in the middle so will Miami be looking at bringing Chris Bosh who has been out with an abdominal injury since the Pacers series for Game 5? According to ESPN, that’s what Miami could be looking to do soon.

According to multiple sources, the Heat are hoping to activate Chris Bosh for Tuesday’s Game Five if he doesn’t suffer a setback in workouts over the next two days.

The Heat could use his presence in the middle but Bosh has been out since May 13 and could shgow signs of rust if he returns for Game Five. Sure, he may be practicing and rehabbing but there is a huge difference between practice and playing in a pivotal game in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Getting Bosh back will be huge for Miami and could be a big difference for the Heat. But will he disrupt the chemistry between LeBron James and Dwyane Wade? James and Wade have been playing great together (especially in Games One and Two) and adding Bosh, who will require touches to get him back in rhythm, could take away from any chemistry two of Miami’s “Big 3” have developed in his absence.

Regardless, Miami will need to re-incorporate Bosh as soon as they can. Should they survive their series with the Celtics, they will need a fully healthy, and ready to go Bosh to contend with the likes of the Spurs or Thunder.
