Kris Humphries Won’t Keep Up With Kim Kardashian, Divorcing After 3 Months

NBA free agent forward Kris Humphries is now also a free man after 72 grueling days of being married to Kim Kardashian. TMZ is reportingthat Kardashian has filed divorce papers today, October 31, leaving the world shocked as to how all of this could have gone so horribly after their whirlwind romance.

We’re told even though the marriage was short, she is not seeking an annulment. It’s a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites “irreconcilable differences.”

The date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011.  According to the docs, Kim wants Kris to foot his own lawyers’ fees and she’ll pay hers.  And, she wants the court to reject any move by Kris to get spousal support.

TMZ also calculated that the reportedly $10 million wedding comes out to $138,888 for each day of marriage. That’s also not counting the 20.5 carat, $2 million engagement ring that Humphries, who last played for the New Jersey Nets and averaged a career high in points and rebounds with a double-double, gave the second Kardashian sister to be married to an NBA player.

You might be worried about Humphries bank account in light of the lockout and his inability to secure a contract from an NBA team. Fear not though because according to The Post and categorized by Extra, Kim and Kris did quite well for putting up with each other for a few months:

* $15 million plus profit for four-hour, two-part wedding special on E!

* $2.5 million for exclusive photos with People magazine

* $300,000 for exclusive engagement announcement with People

* $100,000 for exclusive rights to bridal shower with Britain’s OK! mag

* $50,000 to have bachelorette party at Tao in Las Vegas

Stuff they got for free included:

* $15,000 to $20,000 Hansen’s Bakery wedding cake

* $60,000 for three Vera Wang wedding dress and fittings

* $400,000 in Perrier Jouet Champagne

* $150,000 in hair and makeup for photo shoots and TV “home video”

* $10,000 in Lehr & Black wedding invitations

Well played, Kris. Well played indeed. Before he was just another role player earning his trade in relative anonymity to the general public. Now he’s banked millions and is a household name. Which leads me to wonder, what’s Lamar Odom’s game plan then?
