We will never know if David Stern would have pulled the plug on the entire 2011-2012 NBA season but one thing is for sure, the lockout was a taxing time for all involved. The players, owners, employees at arenas and many more felt the pinch of the lockout and all are glad it is finally over. Especially the fans.
See the NBA is driven by the fans. They are the ones who shell out their hard-earned cash for expensive tickets, parking, souvenirs, food and more. Without the fans, there is no NBA.
So as the fans waded through the lockout, stuck with a league fighting over millions of dollars, you would think the NBA would do whatever it takes to win back those who make the NBA what it is season after season.
Right?
Well if fans were thinking the NBA would be ready to show a good gesture by making the NBA League Pass cheaper for a shortened season, think again.
The NBA is still going to charge $169 for its popular NBA League Pass which allows fans to watch any out-of-market game during this truncated season. The same price it was last season when there was an 82-game season.
You know that expression, “It’s the little things that matter,” well it seems that expression fell on deaf ears in the NBA offices and it might need a reminder of this. This was a golden opportunity for the NBA to take their first steps at making amends with the fans during this lockout but instead, they committed a huge turnover here.
Sure, the NBA doesn’t have to lower the prices on its services and they are adding their mobile service with the price but come on NBA, cut the fans a break. That or you better have something in store in the near-future for the fans.
