The Boston Celtics’ “Big 3” era of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen could be coming to an end 
sooner than later if Boston continues their losing ways and if GM Danny Ainge does pull the trigger on a deal.
And if Ainge is putting out “feelers” on a potential trade involving the “Big 3” (or any Celtics player), could the Los Angeles Lakers come calling for Paul Pierce?
According to Fox Sports Ohio, the Lakers are interested in Pierce.
Also, the Lakers reportedly are trying to find a way to land Paul Pierce. Not sure yet, what they are willing to give up. But again, it won’t be an easy deal to make. The Celtics love him, obviously.
Of the Celtics’ trio, Pierce might be the one who is untouchable. Pierce has poured his heart and soul during his time in Boston and endured some of Boston’s darker days before the franchise traded for Garnett and Allen. And talk about a possible fan backlash.
How would Boston fan-base react to seeing Pierce traded? Not a pretty picture but if the Lakers are indeed looking to land Pierce, what can they possibly give up?
Andrew Bynum, and Kobe Bryant aren’t going anywhere (maybe Pau Gasol?) for Pierce. After those three players, there isn’t much left on the Lakers’ roster. Matt Barnes? Metta World Peace? Steve Blake? Luke Walton? I don’t think so.
Moreover, does Pierce really work in L.A.?
Bynum and Bryant will get their touches leaving Pierce the odd-man out. He is a franchise-type player and shouldn’t be considered being second or third fiddle on any team let alone the Lakers. Plus does L.A. really want an older player with not many years left in the N.B.A.?
Seems any chance L.A. has at landing Pierce might be just a pipe-dream. And seeing how he recorded a near triple-double with 34 points, eight rebounds, and 10 assists recently against the Wizards, Boston might want to hang on to number 34 rather than deal him.
