For those who can remember MC Hammer during in his glory days then this is sure to make you laugh or perhaps make you break out your baggy pants and bust a move. Preferably the “type writer” Hammer move.
Dallas Mavericks’ Jason Terry pulled a page out of William Shatner’s book of interpretive reading of popular music (yes I realize I just dated myself by knowing this Shatner tidbit) and read Hammer’s “Can’t Touch This” as part of the Mavs’ quirky series titled “Championship Readings.”
I hope to see similar videos of Mavs’ players to surface but if I can make a suggestion, can we please see Dirk Nowitzki give a dramatic reading of “Hooked On A Feeling” by German favorite David Hasselhoff. You know how much those Germans love “The Hoff.” That or see him read the lyrics to anything by TuPac.
Anyway, sit back and enjoy this dramatic reading (h/t The Jersey Chaser) of “Can’t Touch This” by the “Jet”
OK Crossover fans, time to tell us which N.B.A. player you most want to see do something like this and what song should they read?
