The Cleveland Cavaliers are set to take on the Golden State Warriors this evening in what is expected to be a very entertaining game. Both teams appear to be back to nearly full strength after both suffered through some injury issues this season. Golden State is hoping to once again prove that they are the better team and knock the Cavaliers off like they did in last seasons NBA Finals.
Kyrie Irving doesn’t want to fall to the Warriors again and believes that his team has to make a statement.
“It’s just important for us to take care of home court,” Irving said. “Our fans are great. You know we’re going to expect a packed house no matter what team is coming in, but the next few teams that are coming in are great teams and we’ve got to make a statement.”
He continued to preview the game just a bit to conclude the interview.
“It’s a great test,” Irving said. “You guys know what it is. I mean, it’s two great teams playing against each other. It’s what everybody wants to see. The media is going to continuously talk about it, and they should. It’s great players all the way around. Going to be a great game tomorrow night.”
There is no question that the game is going to be a good one. These two teams are quickly becoming bitter rivals and they are set up to be rivals long-term. Cleveland is still the best team in the Eastern Conference at this point in the season, while the Warriors are the best team in the Western Conference.
Beating Golden State is not easy and only four losses have appeared on their schedule in the first 41 games. Cleveland is hoping to help put an end to their hopes of beating the Chicago Bulls’ record of 72 wins on the season.
Expect to see both teams bring their best to the court this week and don’t be surprised if it comes down to the final minutes to decide the victor.
