The New York Knicks may have just gotten a little more interesting as they work to close the month of February out on a high note. Although still struggling at 24-34 on the year, the Knicks recently added a potential spark to their squad by signing New York native and former BYU star Jimmer Fredette to a 10-day contract.
Fredette’s arrival could be short-lived and it could easily amount to nothing, but in a rough stretch (2-8 over their last 10 games) where little seems to be going right, adding “The Jimmer” could do the Knicks some good. Fredette is one more reason for NYC fans to take the Knicks in live, while New York still holds onto a chance at grinding out an Eastern Conference playoff spot. You won’t find a better value on the week, as Knicks and Indiana Pacers tickets are super cheap, per Razorgator.com. Fans can hit this one up live for as little as $7 for the cheap seats, while there is serious value to be had in Corner 19 of the lower level at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, where tickets can be found for as cheap as $32.
Outside of the value of Knicks vs. Pacers tickets, the game itself could be rather entertaining as Paul George and Carmelo Anthony square off head to head. Kristaps Porzingis is always a threat to dazzle, while the Pacers also present some quality talent with George Hill, Monta Ellis and rookie Myles Turner all impressing at different times this season. Indiana looks to be the favorite to take down the win at home, in what kicks off a three-game series between these two teams.
2/26/2016 – New York Knicks vs. Orlando Magic at Madison Square Garden | Avg: $184.73 | Get-in: $35
New York heads back home on the 26th, when they’ll try to defend their turf against the feisty Magic. Considering Knicks tickets are usually around $230 on average the rest of the way, fans are in for another deal at MSG, with some lower level Knicks and Magic tickets going for just $71 to start. Fans can even add to the value if they plan their Madison Square Garden parking ahead of time on ParkWhiz.com, where spots can be found for as little as $10.
The real value is in this matchup, even though both the Knicks and Magic are fighting for their playoff lives with just 24 wins, a piece. That actually adds to the hype of this matchup, however, as it’s likely only one has a realistic shot at sneaking into the Eastern Conference’s 8th seed. With the Magic ahead of the Knicks in the wild card standings and entering MSG with a 2-0 season series lead, this game appears to be a must-win for New York.
2/28/2016 – New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat at Madison Square Garden | Avg: $279.25 | Get-in: $35
Most of New York’s games are must-win going forward, as they stand in as the third worst team in the conference and have very little room for error as they try to finish the second half strong. Getting a win against the Heat wouldn’t be easy on the road, but this February 28th date closes the week (and the month) at home. Luckily Miami is also extremely banged up, with Dwyane Wade seemingly battling knee soreness on a weekly basis and big man Chris Bosh sidelined indefinitely with a blood clot issue for the second year in a row. Wade could enhance these tickets if present for a big Madison Square Garden clash, but if he’s out Knicks fans wouldn’t be too upset, as it’d only give New York a better shot at stealing a big win.
That won’t be easy even without Wade, though, as Miami had won seven in a row against the Knicks before New York staged an upset in South Beach in early January. New York doesn’t have a realistic chance to leapfrog the Heat in the standings, but a win here would even the season series and provide the Knicks with a huge confidence boost. This would also mark one the last opportunities for Fredette to make an impact on the team in his effort to lock down a roster spot for the remainder of the regular season. Either way, this is New York’s most expensive game of the week (almost $280 on average), but fans can at least hit the cheap seats for $35.
