Some Bulls didn’t want to hear Rip talk how to win titles

There is no doubt the Chicago Bulls are the cream of the crop in the Eastern Conference and are the heavy favorites to reach the NBA Finals. They have the best record in the NBA, one of the best point guard in the league, led by Coach of the Year candidate, and have maintained their grip on the best record in the NBA while dealing with their super star dealing with injuries for most of the season.

All this adds up to a possible championship team in waiting so it would behoove the team to lean on every possible source to help make this come true. Fortunately for Chicago they have former NBA champion Rip Hamilton on the squad to tell them what it takes to be a champion.

However, it would seem that when Rip did tell his teammates what it does take to win it all, some Bulls players didn’t want to hear it.

The Bulls have needed much more consistent scoring out of Richard Hamilton, and far less telling everyone in the locker room what they need to do to be champions. Several sources say it grated on some Bulls since Hamilton’s arrival in December, but eventually subsided.

Although this seems to be in the past, it is rather interesting, if not troubling. Unless Rip was being a jerk about it, this is a young Bulls team who have aspirations to win it all this season. They came close last season so why wouldn’t they want Rip give them the blueprint to a title?

Moreover, does this show a cocky team? If so this is not the type of mindset Chicago needs heading into the playoffs.

Look Bulls, I am glad this has been put to rest but anything less than another championship banner hanging in Chicago would be considered a lost season. And when you have a veteran presence who actually owns a championship ring like Hamilton on the squad, you listen.
