Yi Jianlian may have ended last season with the Dallas Mavericks where he logged 30 starts and just under 3 points per game, but you'd be hard pressed to doubt he still has a lot of game left.
Jianlian's play at the 2012 London Olympics for China was proof enough.
And while the 7-footer envisions himself continuing to play in the NBA, the overseas offers are starting to surface.
The latest reports out of Spain has Real Madrid courting Jianlian with a standing offer already on the table.
If Jianlian opts to play for Real Madrid in Spain's famed ABC League, he would join an impressive team that boasts Rudy Fernandez, Sergio Rodriguez, Jaycee Carol and Marcus Slaughter.
But trying to decide between playing in Europe or entertaining offers from around the NBA is only one of Jianlian's concerns these days.
Word out of China Jianlian is also battling a strained MCL, which ultimately will play a part regardless where he chooses to sign this offseason. He initially injured his knee in London in China's 81-61 loss to Australia. He returned two days later but was not effective in another loss, this time to Brazil — 5 points and 6 rebounds in 30 minutes of play.
Keep in mind: this is the second knee injury for Yi in less than a year and the former 6th overall pick in the 2007 NBA draft has yet to play more than 66 games in an NBA season.
While China struggled in Group B play going winless in London (0-5), Jianlian did more than carry China's flag during the opening ceremonies. He also shouldered the load on the floor by averaging 14.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and put up 30 points and 12 rebounds against Siliver medal winning Spain.
Ironic as it is, Jianlian just might be calling Madrid home by the end of this summer.
