The Dallas Mavericks came into the NBA in 1980 and for 31 years, an NBA crown eluded them. The team would have great regular seasons, and deep playoff runs but when it came to walking away with the title, it constantly slipped their grasp.
But that all changed in 2011.
The Mavs finished with a 57-25 record, and marched their way to the Finals defeating the Heat in six games (4-2). Dirk Nowitzki would win the NBA Finals MVP and Dallas wouldn't be the only team in Texas without an NBA title.
