NBA Christmas: a big logo, sleeves on jerseys and the “Jingle Hoops” curse

Ok, it is a pretty cool NBA commercial and the verdict may still be out on the jersey with sleeves and oversized logo for Christmas, but what about the dreaded “Jingle Hoops” curse no one is discussing.

You know what we are talking about…

With the NBA “Big Logo” promo ad featuring LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, James Harden, Stephen Curry and Steve Nash, is it too Grinch-like to mention how three of those players may not exactly be getting ready to spread the Christmas cheer around these days?

They are too busy being ba-hum-bugged by nagging injuries.

Steve Nash is sidelined with a gimpy back for the Los Angeles Lakers that could lead to his medical retirement. Derrick Rose (sore right hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday but did rehab work according to Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau and remains day-to-day. Now you can add James Harden to the mix. The Rockets held Harden out of Wednesday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers because of a sore foot and for precautionary measures.

Consider yourself fortunate and warned Durant, James and Curry: make sure to watch out for falling jingle hoop bells.

You could roll an ankle.
