When players face their old teams, especially teams that have traded them in the past, emotions are certain to be felt when said player takes the court against old teammates. Marreese Speights of the Warriors would probably agree with that sentiment, as he had a career night this past Monday when his Golden State Warriors put on one of the biggest blowouts in recent memory on the hapless, tanking Philadelphia 76ers.
Speights played the game of his life against the team he dreamed of doing it against, resulting in an incredible highlight reel (courtesy of CSN Philadelphia via The 700 Level). A night after losing by 45 to the Clippers, the 76ers got rocked by the Warriors to a deficit of 43 points, a margin of victory which Speights' 32 points (on 12-for-15 shooting) and eight boards in 25 bench minutes certainly augmented.

Whether it was via jumpshot, drive to the hoop, old-fashioned 3-point play, or even regular 3-pointer, Speights did it all against the 76ers, making his old team sorry it ever traded him in the first place. Granted, Philly has bigger problems than a former player destroying it for a career-high, but it always hurts to get shown up and brutalized by a guy that was on your team a few years ago. There's no question that performance hurt Brett Brown, deep down.
