Dwight Howard hears it and gives it in return to L.A.

Back in November, Dwight Howard returned to Los Angeles for the first time to face the Clippers. Several Lakers fans made sure Howard knew their presence and booed him soundly when he touched the ball.

Wednesday night was the first time Howard suited up for the Rockets in Los Angeles against the Lakers, and he was roundly booed by the "jilted lovers" (h/t CSN Houston):

The Rockets ended up winning 134-108 in a national television blowout. Good choice, ESPN, with the Spurs and Blazers playing on League Pass (which for some reason did not work for me last night when I tried to watch the game).

And Howard played extremely well in the game, scoring 20 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in about 28.5 minutes. It was an easy win that gave Howard some time to enjoy the festivities.

It might be safe to say that Lakers fans have no love for former center Dwight Howard. After a season in purple and gold, he never lived up to the expectations and the mounting pressure to lead L.A. to the Finals.

The Staples Center Crowd let him have it throughout the game. Late in the game, while Dwight was shooting free throws, the crowd was chanting "Howard Sucks" when Howard himself joined in the chant. It also helped Houston was up big on L.A.

Howard is still getting himself back into the flow of things although he is nowhere near the dominant force he was in Orlando.

That trip back to his home for eight years comes in a couple of weeks.
