In the first quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Clippers, the worst happened to the Cavaliers.

Kyrie Irving left the game in the second quarter with a biceps injury as the Clippers were well on their way to a win (the Cavaliers made a second-half comeback, but could not maintain the close deficit at the end). Now, Cleveland is fearing the worst.
Kyrie Irving could be lost for the rest of the season, effectively ending the Cavaliers’ hunt for a Playoff spot and a disappointing season to boot.
Mary Schmitt Boyer of The Cleveland Plain-Dealer cites two NBA sources who say Irving’s injury to his left biceps could be serious enough to knock him out for the rest of the year. That could be very very bad.
Irving won the NBA’s All-Star MVP and is averaging 21.2 points per game and 6.2 assists per game. His team though has been a major disappointment this year as the Andrew Bynum experiment faltered and the team petered out. The Cavaliers are outside the Playoffs despite every intention and expectation they would be among the top eight in the Eastern Conference.
Irving’s impending free agency does not make this any easier for the Cavaliers.
Uncertainty continues in Cleveland. Now comes major trepidation and concern as the summer comes sooner than thought.
