Another Reason To Get NBA 2K12: Training Camp

photo: cbsnews.comSure there are positive signs the NBA season might start on time but reality is the lockout is still in effect and it’s dangerously close to affecting the upcoming season. Namely training camps.

That’s right, if the lockout continues this month, training camps will be the first to feel the impact of the lockout and possibly be canceled. Rookies, NBA hopefuls, and more would miss out on an opportunity to impress coaching staffs and more importantly, try to get an NBA contract.

But fret not NBA fans, in the world of video games you can enjoy training camp as NBA 2K12 preps you for your foray into the game.

2K Sports today unveiled a new mode for NBA 2K12 referred to as ‘Training Camp’. The mode acts as a series of tutorials rather than being similar to the ‘NBA Academy’ introduced in the NBA Live series which was more intended as a multi-faceted practice and learning environment. In total there are nine camp “lessons” in 2K12 that include running through different shots, moves, passing execution, and defense.

Many players complained of how complicated the control scheme was on prior editions of the game so this should be a nice new addition to wreck your opponents online.

So you see NBA fans, if the lockout does indeed interrupt training camps, you have this outlet to get in a training camp. Not unless virtual owners and players union start arguing over a virtual CBA then you are pretty much screwed.
