Derrick Rose Makes Appearance On Assassin’s Creed Promo

There’s been a long tradition of professional players starring in commercials for basketball video games. Lately though, these athletes are creeping up more and more in ads for other video games. Hey, these guys have to do something these days.

We know that pro athletes are hardcore gamers with all that free time on their hands even when the NBA is in effect. With the new Assassin’s Creed coming out soon, we can actually track their progress and see how good they really are.

Today, Ubisoft® announced a partnership with several of the greatest athletes in the world who will appear in broadcast commercials alongside Ezio Auditore, the legendary hero in Assassin’s Creed Revelations, the blockbuster action video game hitting store shelves on November 15. Starring in the campaign are two time MMA champion BJ Penn, game-changing running back Adrian Peterson and one of the most dynamic professional basketball players in the world, Derrick Rose. The athletes, known for their legendary status in their respective sport and passion for Assassin’s Creed were selected by Ubisoft to be a part of the Assassin’s Creed Revelations’ “Leave Your Legacy” campaign.

The campaign showcases each athlete, featuring their professional statistics alongside their video game stats playing Assassins Creed.

“You don’t need to be a league MVP to amass legendary status in Assassin’s Creed Revelations,” stated Tony Key, senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ubisoft North America. “Leave Your Legacy is a call to action that challenges fans to bring their best when playing the game. Adrian Peterson, Derrick Rose and BJ Penn are star performers at the highest level of competition. Having athletes of this caliber engaged in this campaign highlights the impact of Ezio.”

Rose, already one of professional basketball’s top stars was awarded the league’s most valuable player in 2011, becoming the youngest player to ever win the award. Named the league’s top rookie in 2009, Rose has led his team to the playoffs each year he’s been in the league. “To be involved in something like Leave Your Legacy is amazing. I’m lucky to have the opportunity to play in Chicago, the city I grew up in, and I’m excited to share my interest in Assassin’s Creed Revelations with all of the fans.”
