  • Final Score: Mavericks, 112, Thunder 105.
  • The Thunder trailed through much of Game 3 and behind by as much as 23 points before making a late push to almost steal the game away. This time in Game 4, they were leading the Mavs by 15 points with less than 5 minutes left in the game to salvage a split at home and tie the series 2-2 before heading back to Dallas. Dirk Nowitzki was quiet in the second half but exploded in the final minutes as the Mavs managed to storm back and somehow tie the game in regulation, ending with a Jason Kidd three-pointer. The soon-to-be-legendary Thunder collapse was complete in overtime, with the team only managing 4 points.
  • Mavericks: Nowitzki – 40 points (12-20 FGs, 14-15 FTs), 5 rebounds.
  • Thunder: Kevin Durant – 29 points, 15 rebounds, 9 turnovers.
  • Key Stats: James Harden had to go to the bench with 6 fouls when the Mavs late push began. Then the Thunder’s offensive execution then proceeded to grind to a halt and the team only scoring six points for the rest of the game. Durant failed to score in the final 10 minutes.
  • “I’ve obviously had my fair share of leads and lost them,” Nowitzki said. “It was a great comeback for us, definitely one of the best that I can remember being a Maverick, definitely in a very important game.”
  • “If this loss did not hurt,” Thunder coach Scott Brooks said, “there’s no such thing as a loss that can hurt you.”
  • The Mavs series lead now stands at 3-1. Game 5 is Wednesday night in Dallas at 9 PM EST.
