Video: Former NBA Ballers Tee Off For Charity

NBA legend Bill Russell hosted a charity golf event in New York to raise money for youth mentoring through MENTOR: The National Mentoring Partnership, of which Russell is a founding member.

Taking part in the charity game were former NBA players Charles Barkley, Alonzo Mourning, Jerry West, George Gervin, Julius “Dr. J” Erving and many others for the worthy cause.

“I am honored to have so many of my friends and some of the greatest athletes of all-time join us to support our mentoring efforts,” Russell said. “I know these guys still like to compete and it will be a fun event for a great cause.”

However, if any of these former NBA greats ever dream about playing the the PGA’s senior tour, they may want to start by learning how to swing a club.

Though Erving’s swing wasn’t that bad, the same can’t be said for Gervin and former NFL great Jim Brown, who may need a few lessons from the pros.

Unfortunately, no video surfaced of Barkley showing off that sweet golf swing he has. Perhaps that’s a good thing for his ego.
