The NBA has seen many legendary big man grace the hardwood.
David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem Olajuwon, Bill Russell, Shaquille O’Neal and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar are just a few in a short list among the pantheon of dominant big men but none were as dominant as Wilt Chamberlain.
From scoring 100 points in a game, capturing four NBA titles, being a seven-time scoring champ, and much, much more, “The Big Dipper” is arguably the cream of the crop of NBA big men.
But like everyone else, he had to start somewhere and Wilt’s start was working as a hotel bell hop in high school.
Check out this old footage (via ballislife.com) of Wilt where he was dominating college players as a high schooler (averaging 30 points) and much more. And by much more I mean get a look at those old-school basketball shorts. Thanks for ushering the longer shorts “Fab Five.”
