The 2012 All-Star game is fast approaching and as the stars descend on Orlando, so will Nike’s space-themed sneakers.
That’s right, Nike is debuting its space-themed sneakers as Kobe Bryant, Kevin Durant and LeBron James will be sporting the new kicks in Orlando later this month. The theme is based on Orlando’s relationship with Kennedy Space Center.
Each player will have their own custom sneaker along with their own custom patches like the astronauts wear on their jumpsuit. Here is a look at the James’ “Galaxy” sneaker, Durant’s Zoom KD IV, and Bryant’s Zoom Kobe VII System. The patches for each player will be a lion shooting through space for James, a horse for Durant for his participation in the “H-O-R-S-E” competition at past All-Star games, and a mamba for Bryant’s sneakers.
Though I never been a huge sneaker head, I will admit these are not too bad if I do say so myself. They aren’t too outlandish (though I am sure they will run you a pretty penny) and look cool to wear for a night on the town.
However, no space sneaker can ever come close to the futuristic Nike Marty McFly kicks. Ever!
