You remember the ABA right? The red-blue-and-white ball, the league that originated the three-point line, gave the NBA some of its best players such as George Gervin, and Dr. J. and was known for its up-tempo, high-scoring affairs.
You may have not known this but the ABA is still alive (and still using the red, white and blue ball) and in a recent game between the Jacksonville Giants and Columbus Riverballers, the Giants scored a whopping 211 points — in a single game!
That’s not a typo people. 211 points were scored in a game, smashing not only the teams past record of 206 points in a game but the NBA record of 173 in regulation.
Talk about one fun and wild night not only for the players but for the fans. In particular the players. These guys may never step on an NBA court but for one night, the basketball world was looking at them.
And in case you were wondering, the final score was 211-84. Safe to say this was one hell of a lopsided win.
