Wednesday marked Doc Rivers' first game back in Boston as a head coach after his somewhat tumultuous departure departure this past summer.
While he still had a game to coach, he might have been a little nervous about the reaction he would get from the Boston faithful. After all, he forced his way out like a disgruntled superstar and reportedly traded barbs with Danny Ainge. Or maybe he did not. It was hard to know what to believe with Rivers chirping with Bill Simmons at the NBA Draft about it.
Bygones are apparently bygones as Rivers got a rousing ovation for his first regular season coaching against the Celtics after nearly a decade and one title in Celtic green:

The Clippers ended up winning 96-88 behind Chris Paul's 22 points, six rebounds and nine assists. Blake Griffin had 18 points. And DeAndre Jordan pinned an alley-oop between the backboard and the rim in an impressive feat of Shaqtin' the Fool.
The emotional moments still came out when Rivers spoke to the Boston media following the game.
