Dwight Howard gets booed by Lakers fans in Philippines

Dwight Howard's departure from the Lakers wasn't graceful.

In his lone season in purple and gold, he didn't pan out the way many thought he would considering he had Steve Nash and Kobe Bryant at his side. He never meshed with the team, was hurt, and when it came down to the postseason, the Lakers were swept by the Spurs in the first round.

Needless to say, the Lakers-Howard experiment was a bust.

He left to the Rockets via free agency leaving a bad taste in the collective mouths of Lakers fans throughout the globe and Howard got a sample of what to come when he returns to the Staples Center this season.

While playing an exhibition game in the Philippines, Lakers fans showered him with boos and chants of "Kobe" during the game versus the Pacers.

Dwight Howard, playing an exhibition game Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Philippines, received  scattered boos and "Kobe" chants as the Houston Rockets faced the Indiana Pacers, according to InterAKTV.

The Rockets won handily, 116-96, but Howard struggled with nine points, five fouls and four turnovers in about 24 minutes.

Howard was applauded on his lone free throw make in four tries.

I hope Howard realizes this smattering of boos will pale in comparison to what awaits him in L.A. and to a lesser extent in Orlando. The guy just burns bridges like it's going out of style.

His waffling with the Magic and Lakers only added to a rising dislike of him from fans. Add the fact that he is so physically gifted and is capable of dominating every game yet never has fully realized his potential is quite frustrating.
