LeBron James to grace cover of NBA2K14

The Heat's LeBron James will grace the cover of the critically acclaimed NBA2K14, it was announced last night in this amusing commercial featuring Steve Kerr:

So add video game cover athlete to James' belt. This will be his first video game cover, a sign of prestige that has been matched by such luminaries as Michael Jordan and Larry Bird, Shaquille O'Neal and Antoine Walker. Last year's 2K cover featured Blake Griffin, Derrick Rose and Kevin Durant. The year before featured legends Magic Johnson, Larry Bird and Michael Jordan. And the year before was the Jordan edition.

James is joining good company on the recent 2K covers for sure.

It will be interesting to see how 2K Sports pushes the series forward. Last year, they amazingly made the game even better with a two thumbstick control that actually caught on quickly and made the game more enjoyable and easier to play. The video game has pushed everyone else out of the market and is a must-own seemingly every year for NBA fans.

2K14 should be no different.
