Egg McMuffins the prize when Blazers score 100

NBA teams like to give away fun things at the end of games to keep fans interested.

Keep a team under 100 in Los Angeles? Get free tacos (a favorite chant among the Lakers faithful).

Make 10 3-pointers in a game in Orlando? More free tacos (I miss the 20 Fowl Shots where everyone could get a free Chick-Fil-A sandwich whenever the Magic made 20 free throws).

There are plenty others across the NBA. But lo, the Portland Trail Blazers deal with Taco Bell, a 14-year relationship, had expired and there would be no free chilupas for Blazers fans to redeem every time the team scored more than 100 points at the newly renamed Moda Center.

Have no fear, fans of fast food giveaways, the Blazers have a new sponsor and giveaway to help your carboload.

Chris Haynes of CSN Northwest reports the Blazers and McDonald's have reached a five-year deal with McDonald's to give away Sausage McMuffins to fans in attendance if the Blazers score 100 points or more.

This is one of the most popular in-arena promotions in sports. The crowd noise noticeably escalates as the Trail Blazers approach 100 points. The extra energy level contributes to our home court advantage,” said Chris McGowan, President & CEO of the Trail Blazers and Moda Center. “We are grateful that McDonald’s has stepped up to the plate and enabled us to continue the 100-point promotion for the next five seasons.

In the official Blazers release, they will be prompting fans to chant "Mickey-Ds" when the team gets close. That will not qualify as an exercise to work off the 500 calories inside a Sausage and Egg McMuffin.
