Cleveland Cavalier center Anderson Varejao is believed to be out for the rest of the season after suffering an Achilles tendon tear. The injury came in a 125-104 win over the Timberwolves when he landed awkwardly on his ankle and couldn’t put any weight on his left leg. An MRI Wednesday morning revealed the tear and this news will likely lead to the Cavs intensifying their search for a big man in a signing or a trade. Varejao has missed 160 games over the last four seasons because of injury and just signed a three year, $30 million extension this past offseason. He was averaging about 10 points and 6.5 rebounds in 24.5 minutes a game this season. The Cavaliers still have Tristan Thompson and Brendan Haywood in their frontcourt, but will still be looking for another solid big to add to the rotation.
