Report: Cavs, Wolves set to trade Love, Wiggins

According to reports, the Cavaliers and Wolves have reached an agreement to trade Kevin Love from Minnesota to Cleveland in exchange for the top pick in the 2014 NBA Draft, Andrew Wiggins.

The deal cannot be complete until the end of August but a “handshake” deal is set for the trade to happen, according to these reports.

If true, then Love will join LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, making the trio perhaps the best “Big 3” in the NBA. It also catapults the Cavs to the top of the East and will be a team to deal with in the Finals and championship discussion.

Add the fact the Cavs have Anderson Varejao, Dion Waiters, Mike Miller and new coach David Blatt, and the Cavs will be looking to challenge in the NBA.

However, the trio will need time to mesh a la Jame when he joined Wade and Bosh in Miami but will be just fine after the midpoint of the season.

With Love, James will have a player who is not only a presence in the paint, but a threat from outside the paint as Love is quite the three-point shooter. Love can also rebound which will give James and Irving many chances at fastbreak points with Love’s outlet passing.

Kyrie and LeBron will also help spread the court and paint for Love to do his damage as well.

As for Wiggins, he would be joining Ricky Rubio, Nikola Pekovic, Glenn Robinson III, Chase Budinger, Mo Williams and Kevin Martin but the team will once again be looking to establish themselves in the competitive West as they are still a few players away from being a postseason squad.
