Rookies Aaron Gordon, Zach LaVine preparing for dunk showdown

It is the dead time of the season when solo workouts, high school gym-filling exhibitions and pick-up games take hold of the NBA.

There are some really talented and athletic players in this year’s NBA Draft class. And they want you to know it.

First, this past weekend at the Seattle ProAm, Timberwolves rookie Zach LaVine shut things down with his dunking display:

Everyone knew this kid was athletic, but holy cow.

Another player every knew was pretty athletic was Magic forward Aaron Gordon. He can fly too.

He did not get the chance to do that much in Summer League and so he put on a “light workout” a few days ago too:

Somehow, someway, these two former Pac-12 stars have to get into the dunk contest. Or at least allow an impromptu one during the Rising Stars Challenge in Brooklyn in February during All-Star festivities.

Maybe these two should keep trying to find ways to one up each other.
