The San Antonio Spurs whiffed on a chance at sweeping the Portland Trail Blazers in Game Four of their semifinals series, losing 103-92 in Portland.
And now with the series shifting to San Antonio for Game Five, the Spurs will have to muster up the energy to end their series. Something Tony Parker says they lacked in Game Four.

“I do not think we had too much energy. You have to give much credit to Portland, they had a big game. But we, we were a little tired. In the second half, we struggled to find the energy it takes to keep going. They had a very good game. For us to effectively respond and we have to play better at home Wednesday. We played very well for three games, so now we have the opportunity to finish early enough to get some rest.”
The Spurs have only lost once at home in the postseason in Game Two of their opening round series versus the Mavericks. So needless to say, the Spurs can defend home court. However, the last thing this team needs is for complacency to set it and give Portland a spark.
However, no NBA team has ever come back down 0-3 so history is on San Antonio’s side.
And considering the Spurs have been playing at a high level since Game Seven against the Mavericks, seeing the Spurs have a drop in energy shouldn’t come to much of a surprise.
Fortunately for the Spurs, they have home court advantage and have a strong hold on the series against Portland.
Game 5 is set for Wednesday in San Antonio at 8:30 PM CST.
