3-Point Contest participants announced

It looks like the All-Star weekend just got a whole lot sweeter as the 3-point contest participants were announced on Tuesday. Kyle Korver, Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, J.J. Redick, and Wesley Matthews. Korver leads the league in three-point field goal percentage at 53.1%, Curry is averaging five made triples a game just like his Splash Bro, Thompson. Redick is “only” averaging 2.5 made triples a game, but is doing it on 47%  shooting from downtown. Matthews is making three 3’s a game on 40% shooting from downtown as well so don’t count him out.

This might be the greatest field for the 3-point contest we’ve seen since the time of Larry Bird and Craig Hodges. Any one of those guys can catch fire and Curry is definitely gonna be cooking because he’s already participated twice in the contest without a win so he’ll want the win. Hopefully the third time’s the charm, but I’m personally hoping for about five tiebreaker rounds.

About Benjamin Bornstein

A University of Florida grad, Ben likes basketball way more than he should. He gets excited about a Timberwolves-Kings game so that should tell you how intense the passion is for him. His favorite teams are the Spurs and Magic because he likes to be on both ends of the winning spectrum.
