Adam Silver would be open to expanding All-Star rosters

With this year’s All-Star Game looming on the horizon, commissioner Adam Silver talked about the choice he had to make between Damian Lillard and DeMarcus Cousins in the West once Kobe Bryant went down with this torn rotator cuff.

“That I had to decide between DeMarcus Cousins and Damian Lillard. I didn’t like having to make that choice. I wish I had another slot for Damian because I think he’s deserving of being an All-Star as well.”

Silver went with Cousins because he finished higher in the coaches voting, but he saw  them as equally deserving. He also said that he would consider expanding the teams from 12 players, but he would have to make sure that there was enough playing time to go around in order to pull that off. That’s something he will have to consult with the Players Association about to make sure it can be done. This year’s All-Star Game is on February 15th.
