Big man and former No. 2 pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Emeka Okafor, is thinking about delaying his comeback to the NBA after suffering a herniated disk in his neck. He is “healthy” according to a source, but he doesn’t want to rush back into playing so that he can work on his strength and conditioning. The 32-year old averaged 9.7 points and 8.8 boards in 26 minutes per game while with the Washington Wizards in 2012-13. His expiring contract was then used to trade Marcin Gortat – with the Suns at the time – but he never played a minute for the Suns with his injury and became a free agent in the summer of 2014. He has drawn interest from teams in need of a big man like Cleveland, Dallas, and Miami who were all hoping he would be available this season like originally planned.
