Golden State Warriors and other Western Conference clashes highlight this week in the NBA

The 2014-15 NBA season has been one full of surprises and exciting basketball. The Western Conference has been amazing having nine teams above .500 and the higher quality plan compared to the East. The Eastern Conference has been more confusing as there are only six teams with a winning record with Atlanta and Toronto atop the conference. There is so much talent in this league and any team can be beat.

The Wizards travel to Chicago to take on the Bulls, who will be with the services of Derrick as he comes back from a nagging knee injury. In his absence Pau Gasol has been terrific. The surprise Portland Trail Blazers hosts the Los Angeles Clippers having won four games in a row and sitting at second in the Western conference with a record of 30 wins and only 8 losses. The Blazers still remain dominant even though the lost starter and defensive stalwart Robin Lopez for 6 to7 weeks with a broken hand. The All-Star tandem of LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard has carried this team by averaging close to 44 points a game together. The Los Angeles Clippers are coming off a 14-point loss to the Miami Heat in which they allowed Hassan Whiteside to look like Hakeem Olajuwon. The Houston Rockets have been on fire lately. They are 8-2 in their last ten games including a four game winning streak. James Harden has been building on his MVP caliber season by dropping 30 points in his last two games. The Thunder finally have the dominant 1-2 punch of Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant healthy and playing dominant. Newly acquired Dion Waiters should provide a spark of the bench. The Warriors have the NBA’s best record and are the number one offensive team in the league averaging 109.2 points a game. The splash brothers Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been amazing, averaging 44.5 points per game. However the biggest thing for this team is the return of big men David Lee and Andrew Bogut, who both missed significant time with injuries. This game should be amazing to watch as four of the best scorers in the league face off against each other. Warriors vs. Thunder is at an average price of $199.36 on the secondary market with a minimum price of $40.00.

1/17/15 Houston Rockets vs. Golden State Warriors | Avg. Price: $204.72 | Get-in Price: $59.00

In the game of the week, two of the best teams in the league clash. This could easily be a future Western Conference finals matchup. The Warriors are well known for their three point assassins Curry and Thompson, however this team is not one-dimensional as they are extremely deep with Marreese Speights, Draymond Green, Harrison Barnes and Shawn Livingston playing effectively off the bench. Yet Houston poses as huge challenge with Dwight Howard, Terrence Jones and Dontas Motiejunas and the newly acquired Josh Smith. This game should be fun to watch.
