Melo aggravates knee injury, may miss All-Star Game

New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony might not make it to the All-Star Game this weekend because he aggravated an injury in his knee. Melo left Monday’s game midway through the fourth quarter after he extended his knee to plant for a turnaround jumper. He also landed awkwardly after making the shot from the corner and left the 109-95 defeat with 7:30 remaining. The team initially said Anthony was taken back to the locker room to have the knee retaped but later confirmed he would not return after New York’s deficit reached double figures in the final minutes.

Melo may not play Wednesday night against the Magic, but he will be re-evaluated Tuesday before the game. If he can’t go against the Magic, he may not be able to play in the All-Star Game and the commissioner would have to find yet another replacement.
