The Miami Heat confirmed on Saturday afternoon that All-Star forward Chris Bosh will miss the remainder of the 2014-15 NBA season to effectively treat blood clots in Bosh’s lung.

The Heat also had this to say in the team’s press release:
“Bosh, who is receiving care under the guidance of Miami HEAT team physicians at a Baptist Health System Hospital, is currently resting comfortably. Chris is OK and his prognosis is good.”
Obviously this a huge blow for an already depleted Heat roster, Josh McRoberts is already out for the rest of the season as well, that’s doing everything they can to sneak into the playoffs and stay relatively intimidating in the process.
Over the last 24 hours or so, Bosh being ruled out for the rest of the season looked like the most-likely scenario so the news doesn’t come as a major shock, but it’s still not any less unfortunate.
Enter Goran Dragic.
We’ll have to wait until the 2015-16 season to see just how devastating a Dragic-Bosh pick-and-pop tandem can be, but having the Dragon available in any capacity, along with the emergence of Hassan Whiteside, should help ease the pain of losing Bosh for the remainder of the season.
The Heat may elect to role with Udonis Haslem and other internally depressing options, or they could go the much more entertaining route and sign China Basketball Association stars Michael Beasley and/or Andray Blatche. I recommend the latter, Riley.
Still, the Heat are saying Bosh’s “prognosis is good” and that “Chris is OK”, which is really all that matters right now.
Get well soon, Chris.
