Orlando to keep James Borrego for the rest of the season

The Orlando Magic has decided that it will keep interim head coach James Borrego in that same position through the end of the year. After firing Jacque Vaughn, the Magic were putting out feelers for potential coaching candidates, but decided to take the time to find a good fit and bring in a veteran coach after the season is over. Names like Scott Skiles — an ex-Magic player and fan favorite — Mike Malone, Mark Jackson, and Vinney Del Negro are popping up as potential replacements. Currently, Borrego is the youngest coach in the league at 37 years old. He could end up using the rest of this season an audition to stay on with the Magic too.

About Benjamin Bornstein

A University of Florida grad, Ben likes basketball way more than he should. He gets excited about a Timberwolves-Kings game so that should tell you how intense the passion is for him. His favorite teams are the Spurs and Magic because he likes to be on both ends of the winning spectrum.
