Patrick Beverley to Replace John Wall in Skills Challenge

The NBA selected the Houston Rockets’ Patrick Beverley to participate in the Taco Bell Skills Challenge that takes place this Saturday as part of the NBA’s State Farm All Star Saturday Night. Beverley was picked as a replacement for the injured John Wall.

The Skills Challenge will be the first appearance by Patrick Beverley during All Star weekend. The 4-year guard is averaging 10.7 points, 3.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds, which are all career highs.

The Taco Bell Skills Challenge is different than years past. This year it features eight guards from around the NBA. Those players compete in an obstacle course that tests their agility, dribbling, passing, and shooting skills.

The new feature of the event has players paired up in a bracket system and they will compete head-to-head with the winner of each round advancing to the next one. The final two players will face off in the championship round.
