Not even the Minnesota Timberwolves could believe what they were seeing when third-year player Robbie Hummel posted on Instagram he was working on his rap album:
“Excited to announce that I’ve been in the studio grinding and have finally finished my first hip hop studio album, ROB: Road to Redemption. Look for it in stores and on iTunes this fall. #getmysnareup #turnmyheadphonesup!!!”
Timberwolves PR responded with a “say what?”

Say what indeed, Robbie Hummel took the joke and ran with it, inviting 50 Cent and Just Blaze to join him. He even gave us a few bars to stew over.

Alas, despite Hummel’s love affair with the rap game, he officially announced his retirement and sailed off into the sunset . . .
I'm sorry to say but I feel I have accomplished all I can in the hip hop game…and am announcing my retirement effective immediately
