The Boston Celtics have started strong after their 2014-15 season that resulted in an unlikely playoff appearance, as the team is a perfect 3-0 thus far during the preseason. The Celtics played their first NBA opponent last night in a win over the Brooklyn Nets, as the Celtics were part of the NBA Global Games in their first two contests.
The Celtics first played Olimpia Milano in Milan, Italy on October 6th and led throughout the game, eventually winning 124-91. Isaiah Thomas had 18 points, followed by six assists from Marcus Smart and seven rebounds for David Lee, who was traded to the Celtics after the Golden State Warriors’ NBA Championship run last summer. Boston then traveled to Spain to play Real Madrid two days later, a game that they won 111-96. Avery Bradley led the team in scoring with 17 points, while newly acquired Jae Crowder had six assists and Lee led the team in rebounding again with 11.
Boston returned to the states and played an aforementioned game against Brooklyn that was a 109-105 victory in their favor. Amir Johnson had 19 points and six rebounds while Thomas had nine assists.
Four more games are on the docket for Boston, with games against the New York Knicks, Nets and Philadelphia 76ers. The least expensive Celtics tickets are their two home games according to SeatSmart.com, as the Celtics home game against the Nets has an average price of $19 with a get-in price of $5 and their home game against the Knicks has an average price of $27 with a get-in price of $7.
For the Knicks game on the road, the average ticket price of $185.57 with a get-in price of $55, while their final preseason game (on road against Philadelphia) has an average price of $120.88 with a get-in price of $38.
Fans attending any of the two road games can save at parking at the respective stadiums through ParkWhiz.com. Madison Square Garden parking starts from $10 for this Friday’s game, helping navigate through difficult New York City traffic.
Boston hasn’t had Thomas in the starting lineup during the preseason games, but he has been far and away the team’s best scorer and will be in the game during crunch time. Thomas averaged 19 points in the 21 games played for the Celtics last season after being acquired near the trade deadline.
