Suns Land Brandan Wright

The Phoenix Suns have acquired Celtics forward Brandan Wright via trade according to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski.

The Suns sent the Celtics the their 2015 first-round draft pick (from Minnesota).

The draft pick is protected from picks 1-12 in the 2015 and 2016 drafts. A protected draft pick means that if for some reasons the Suns end up with one of the worst records in the league they can reclaim their pick.

The benefit for the Suns in acquiring Wright is more power and experience for the Suns’ frontline.

In his career, Wright has proven to be a reliable big man off the bench who can provide quality minutes.

This year Brandan Wright is averaging 7.5 points, 3.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in just under 17-minutes per game.
