Our nightly look ahead to the schedule with a couple of notes and story lines so you can plan out your NBA viewing. All Times Eastern.
Fire up the League Pass
8:00 Orlando Magic @ Chicago Bulls (TNT)
A two game schedule makes it easy to figure out which games to watch. Just flip it on TNT and leave it there from 8:00 on. Orlando is approaching D-Day… and they’ve got the Bulls, Pacers, Heat and Spurs in front of them before the big March 15th deadline. It’ll be a very telling stretch. Depending on who you listen to, Orlando seems to be moving closer to keeping Dwight Howard. But if the team suddenly tanks, or if Dwight somehow does, then this stretch could well trigger an avalanche of player movement.
Couple of notes:
- Chicago is 19-0 when holding an opponent to less than 90 points
- The Magic have won 10 of the last 16 regular season meetings overall
10:30 Dallas Mavericks @ Phoenix Suns (TNT)
The Mavs are struggling a bit, going 4-6 in their last 10 games and slipping to the sixth seed in the West. They’re wrapping up nine-game in 12-day stretch, but luckily for them, they’re playing Phoenix, Sacramento and Golden State… all winnable games. Can the Mavs survive the stretch and maybe get back into the top half of the playoff seedings?
Couple of notes:
- Brendan Haywood (ankle) is listed as day-to-day and is traveling with the team.
- Phoenix has won five of its last six home games
John’s picks:
Chicago, Dallas
Last night: 7-6
Season: 89-60
