J.R. Smith has never been confused for Rhodes Scholar. He does a couple of things well: scoring the basketball and providing a canvas for America’s tattoo artists. Beyond that, he’s a bit of an ass.
That’s the easiest segue I’ll ever get in my writing career, because it’s a picture of one that earned Smith a $25,000 fine from the NBA.
“I didn’t know it was going to be as big a deal as it is now,” Smith told reporters on Friday. “I definitely regret it. Anytime I do anything that takes away from our team, I’m definitely going to regret it.”

The short version of the story is Smith had a model, Tahiry Jose, who bills herself as the girl with the biggest butt ever. Smith took a photo of said backside, tweeted it, and now here we are.
It’s a story that’s part funny, part stupid, and part sad. I’m not going to go down all those roads now. I’ll just end it by saying J.R. Smith isn’t the brightest bulb, and for our own entertainment purposes, we’re fine with him staying that way. However, at some point, he’s going to have to grow up too.
