The Brooklyn Nets clearly want everything to be new and flashy as they make their debut under the bright lights of the Big Apple, and that includes the entertainment.
The Nets’ dancers, the “Brooklynettes,” unveiled their new uniforms for the upcoming season, and they are definitely going to make a splash.
“This isn’t palm trees and sunshine. It’s New York City, and it’s Brooklyn. It’s a different sensibility. We go hard,” said designer David Dalrymple.
They are definitely pushing the envelope here when it comes to dancer costumes. With the black leather, a certain Rihanna song comes to mind.
Some of the uniforms do a good job of representing the streets of New York and pay homage to Brooklyn, but a couple of the others look like they might be worn by someone “walking the streets” of New York, if you catch my drift.
I definitely do not want to seem like a prude here, but I do think a couple of the costumes go a little overboard. What do you think?
