I guess since the Los Angeles Lakers’ season has become sort of a joke, it might be time to just embrace the humor. Last night the Lakers did just that, letting Will Ferrell stand in as an usher during the game against the Phoenix Suns.
Actually, I cannot say for sure that the Lakers let him do this, or if Will just decided he would put on the uniform and stand there and since he is Will Ferrell, nobody decided to stop him.
Either way, Ferrell was on the court, dressed as an usher, wearing a nametag that read “Ted Vagina.”
He plays the part perfectly, keeping a totally straight face, staring down the crowd. Honestly, if no one had pointed it out to me, I probably would have missed the fact that it was Will Ferrell and just thought he was a normal usher.
Then, perhaps under the order of the Lakers, Kobe Bryant or Dwight Howard, Ferrell decides to escort Shaquille O’Neal from his courtside seats, leading him out of the Staples Center. Shaq goes willingly, even putting his hands behind his back at one point like he is getting arrested.
It must have been nice for Lakers fans to watch something that was actually supposed to be funny.
