No endorsements for Mark Jackson?

The Warriors have fallen short of expectations this year as they settle into sixth place in the Western Conference. The Mark Jackson and Stephen Curry-led group has struggled at times offensively even with the addition of Andre Iguodala and Andrew Bogut’s return to health. That has been the big surprise. The Warriors have won 10 […]

Bob Knight claims NBA ‘raping’ college basketball

Any time you throw the word “rape” around it is loaded and usually uncalled for. Bob Knight should know this better than anyone. Yet, he did it again. In no way should Knight have used the term in this context. All flak he receives for the comparison of a professional sports league taking the best […]

Heat limping into and out of battle with limping Pacers

ESPN had its full hashtagging glory out for this third matchup between the Heat and Pacers last night. You would be excused if you did not feel the same buzz however. Both teams are comfortably one and two in the Eastern Conference and do not have a whole bunch to play for. They both have […]

Tim Duncan, Spurs encounter ghosts at Golden State

“I heard a baby in his room. There was somebody or something in his room, yeah. I definitely heard something. It wasn’t creepy, because I assumed it was really somebody in the room, and they gave him the wrong room. But when they told me the story the next day about calling up there and no one in the room, it’s at that point you get chills. I totally agreed with him. There was a baby there, absolutely. I heard about the history of the place, and I’d rather not (stay there again).”

Goal post dunking is gone, we remember our favorites

The NFL has officially banned goalpost dunking as touchdown celebrations. Particularly after Jimmy Graham broke the uprights and delayed a game in Atlanta.

Graham was one of the best NFL dunkers thanks to his time as a star player on Miami’s basketball team. He just lifts up and dunks with as much ease as he scores touchdowns. (more…)

Bobcats could get All-Star Game with arena upgrades

Charlotte hosted the All-Star Game back in 1991 when Charlotte Coliseum was a new arena and the Hornets were a new franchise. A lot has happened in 23 years including the Hornets moving away, a new franchise coming in and the Hornets name returning to Charlotte. A new building too, Time Warner Cable Arena, was […]

Greg Oden’s revenge game

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-3ri-AX-p8

Greg Oden has played 20 games for the Heat, averaging 12.0 points per 36 minutes and 9.2 rebounds per 36 minutes. Playing 20 games and 8.9 minutes per game seems like a major accomplishment for Oden. He has been riddled with injuries since he was drafted in 2006, playing parts of only three seasons including this year.

So getting his first chance to play against the Blazers was probably tinged with some emotion. Oden scored four points and grabbed three rebounds in 15 minutes. It was a modest appearance for Oden in yet another start.

Surely that dunk had some emotion behind it however. Even if it was nobody’s fault that Oden did not work out as the top overall pick in Portland.

The Heat won 93-91 as the Blazers continue an East Coast swing.
