Kobe Bryant on Lakers’ goals: Championship

“Championship. Always. Always. That’s the ultimate. When you stand at the bottom of the mountain your goal is to get to the top of the mountain, you don’t just want to go half way. So, it’s always championship.

“Whatever it is that you want to do, there’s always an opportunity to rise. Nothing is ever easy, nothing is ever perfect – especially the things that are worthwhile doing. There’s always going to be adversity, there’s always going to be challenges and those are all opportunity to rise above it.”

Bryant is, of course, entitled to his drive and belief. The Lakers though might very well be the worst team in the Western Conference at this point. Bryant does not have much around him, let alone do we know if he can come back from his injury of two years ago at his age. Steve Nash is aging and Carlos Boozer struggled last year with the Bulls. His supporting case also includes shot-happy Nick Young. It is hard to figure where wins will consistently come from this team.

But don’t stop believing, Kobe. Just hold on to that feeling.
