Baltimore-Philly Pro-Am Features A Lot Of People Not From Baltimore

The summer of the Pro-Am showdowns continues in a couple of weeks as Baltimore takes on Philly on September 25th.  Well, it’s not really “Baltimore” against Philly.  It’s more like some Baltimore guys, and a bunch of Carmelo Anthony’s megastar friends.

[Hakim] Warrick has assembled Team Philly, which will include Kyle Lowry, Lou Williams, Jason Thompson, John Salmons, Wayne Ellington, Markieff Morris, Marcus Morris and Flip Murray among others.

Team Melo will feature several players from Baltimore, but Anthony will also bring some of his friends along, as he did for the showdown against the Goodman League.

LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Eric Bledsoe, Josh Selby, Gary Neal and Donte Greene will suit up alongside Anthony against Team Philly.

Anthony, James and Paul faced off against Durant during the Melo-Goodman game, but the trio has recruited him to take on Philadelphia’s finest.

Oh, there goes LeBron again, recruiting people to join his mega-squad.  Actually, Durant’s the closest of all these non-Baltimore guys.  He’s got that monstrous “Maryland” tattoo, so that’s got to count for something.

But even with the influx of mercenaries, Warrick says he’s got some tricks up his own sleeve.

“My Philadelphia All-Stars look forward to getting on the court and proving to Melo and the people of Baltimore/DC that the best ballers come out of Philly,” said Warrick. “Melo told me he was bringing a squad that can’t be beat so I have a few ‘All-Star’ surprises for him when my team takes the court on September 25.”

Awwwww SNAP!!  I can’t wait to see who he gets to not play any defense as these two squads eek out a 159-157 game.
