Michael Beasley was pulled over in Minnesota last week for… oh, you know.
Minnetonka Police say Minnesota Timberwolves forward Michael Beasley was cited for marijuana possession and speeding in Minnetonka last week.
Beasley was pulled over on June 26 for speeding around 3 a.m. on Interstate 394 and Carlson Parkway. He was clocked at 84 mph in a 65 mph zone.
Police also found 16.2 grams of marijuana in Beasley’s vehicle.
Both offenses are petty misdemeanors which will result in fines
When you are involved in a pot incident at rookie orientation, it’s not shocking to have the rest of your career peppered with more pot incidents. And remember when David Kahn said Beas smoked too much pot in Miami but he’s not smoking anymore? Guess that’s one more thing Kahn was wrong about.
This doesn’t come at a great time for the T-Wolves either. By drafting Derrick Williams, the Wolves have a bit of a logjam at the forward spot. Beasley had a decent season and this would have been a good time to sell high (no pun intended. Ok, it was intended). Now there’s a question of what kind of substance abuse program Beasley will have to attend, and what penalties he’ll face. If he faces some kind of suspension for this, what team will come with any kind of decent trade offer?
David Kahn has enough issues putting a team together. Having Beasley get busted for weed doesn’t help him at all.
