President Barack Obama was aboard the USS Vinson on Friday night, for North Carolina’s victory over Michigan State, and while there he weighed in on the NBA Lockout.
While offering his thoughts on a few sporting related topics, he said that he’s like all of us here at the Crossover Chronicles when it comes to the current staring contest between the NBA’s owners the players they once employed; it’s bothering him as well.
It’s killing him, is actually what he said, in a conversation with The New York Times:
Asked about the impasse between the NBA owners and players, Mr. Obama quipped, “It’s killing me.” But he said, “I’m not going to intercede. I’ve got some bigger fish to fry.”
“In a contest between billionaires and millionaires,” Mr. Obama said, “they should be able to figure out how to divvy up their profits in a way that serves their fans, who are allowing them to be making all this money — not to mention all the folks who work in the concession stands and in the parking lots of facilities all across the country.”
You would think they’d be able to figure something out, right? It sure is hurting those concession stand and parking lot folks too, definitely agree Mr. President. It’s really killing them, truthfully, people like me are just basically really bored. Hopefully something good happens this week though.
